Hard Times: a new dollar for america is sponsored by The Purple Moon, an art and mid-century modern design gallery located in downtown Charleston, West Virginia.

Specializing in mid-century modern furnishings, accessories and vintage and contemporary art, The Purple Moon is operated by a team of collectors who have a deep knowledge of the items they sell and years of experience.

In 2008, after The Purple Moon moved to the current location at 906 Quarrier Street, the Over the Moon Gallery was opened in order to expand The Purple Moon's ability to showcase vintage, contemporary and cutting-edge artwork.

The Purple Moon is a member of the group of galleries who sponsor the monthly Downtown Charleston ArtWalk. The blog, Just a Modern Guy, is managed by The Purple Moon and primarily focuses on collecting modern design and art.

Hard Times: a new dollar for america is The Purple Moon's first juried show.  The first place winner of this show will be offered an opportunity for a solo show at The Purple Moon in the Fall of 2009/ Winter of 2010.

The Purple Moon's hours of operation are Tuesday - Friday 11am - 5pm and Saturday 10am - 4pm. Other times by appointment.
